SARGODHA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Feb, 2026) Commissioner Sargodha Division Hafiz Shaukat Ali on Wednesday ordered all officers concerned to ensure price control of all edibles in the market.

He issued these orders while presiding over a meeting to review proposed amendments to the Punjab Land Revenue law and finalise administrative arrangements for Ramazan.

The meeting was attended by deputy commissioners of all four districts of the division, the additional commissioner (revenue), assistant commissioners, and other revenue officials.

Additional Commissioner (Revenue) Saifullah Sajid briefed participants on proposed amendments to the Land Revenue Act (BoG 1967). Detailed deliberations were held to formulate consolidated recommendations for submission to the Punjab government. The commissioner directed that once approved, the amendments be implemented without any delay and instructed all revenue officers to familiarise themselves thoroughly with the revised legal provisions. He stressed ensuring transparency in the revenue system, improving service delivery, and addressing public complaints promptly.

The DCs presented district-wise plans regarding price control and Ramazan arrangements. The commissioner directed that enforcement teams remain fully active in the field, focusing exclusively on price control during the holy month.

In case of violations, shops will be sealed for three days, heavy fines imposed, and FIRs registered where necessary.

Hafiz Shaukat Ali ordered strict monitoring of critical markets and submission of daily enforcement reports. He further directed officers to ensure their presence during early morning auctions at fruit and vegetable markets to guarantee strict compliance with official rate lists and provide relief to consumers.

The meeting also reviewed arrangements under the Chief Minister’s Ramazan Beautification Plan, including Negahban Ramadan Bazaars and Ramazan Dastarzhwans.

Districts presented implementation reports covering the availability of essential commodities at DC rates, cleanliness, security, parking, and lighting arrangements. The commissioner instructed that quality goods be made available at reasonable prices in Ramazan bazaars and that complaints be addressed immediately.

He stressed maintaining discipline, hygiene, and the dignity of beneficiaries at Ramazan Dastarkhwans.

Commissioner Hafiz Shaukat Ali reiterated that providing relief to the public during Ramadan is a collective responsibility of the administration.
