Commissioner orders clearance of Muharram routes amid sewerage project work

SARGODHA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Jun, 2026) Commissioner Sargodha Hafiz Shaukat Ali on Wednesday directed WASA officials to immediately clear all Muharram procession and congregation routes while inspecting the ongoing mega sewerage project in the city.

According to an official spokesperson, the commissioner, accompanied by WASA Managing Director and other concerned officials, reviewed construction work, drainage schemes and the pace of progress at various project sites.

During the visit,he instructed officials to utilize all available resources to ensure completion of the project within the stipulated timeframe while maintaining construction standards.

Hafiz Shaukat Ali stressed that all obstructions on procession routes must be removed without delay to facilitate mourners and avoid inconvenience during Muharram.

He said public convenience and law and order requirements during the holy month would remain the administration's top priority, directing WASA authorities to expedite construction work, sanitation measures and road restoration activities.

Expressing satisfaction over the progress of the project, the commissioner also called for enhanced coordination among relevant departments to ensure timely completion of the scheme and minimize disruption to citizens.
