Commissioner listens to public complaints at DC Chowk

BAHAWALPUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Apr, 2026) Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Irfan Ali Kathia, as part of efforts to ensure provision of justice at people’s doorstep, listened to citizens’ complaints at his office. He reviewed the grievances of applicants and issued on-the-spot directives to the concerned departmental officers for their prompt resolution. Speaking on the occasion, the commissioner stated that no negligence would be tolerated in addressing public complaints. He emphasized that, in line with the vision of Maryam Nawaz Sharif, it is the responsibility of the administration to ensure access to justice for people, especially those living in remote areas. He further said that timely resolution of public issues is being ensured and that the divisional administration considers public service its top priority. All available resources, he added, are being utilized to provide maximum relief to citizens.

Later, Commissioner Irfan Ali Kathia, accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur Syed Hassan Raza, visited the newly constructed DC Chowk and inspected the ongoing development work. On the occasion, the deputy commissioner briefed him on the progress of the project. The commissioner directed that development work at the chowk be completed at the earliest to ease traffic flow and address commuting difficulties faced by the public. He stressed that while speed is important, no compromise should be made on quality, and all construction activities must meet high standards. He reiterated that providing quality facilities at public places is a Primary responsibility of the administration and instructed the concerned authorities to utilize all available resources to ensure timely completion of the project.
