Commissioner Kohat reviews public services, underscores peace during orakzai visit

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th May, 2026) Commissioner Kohat Division Syed Motasim Billah Shah on Wednesday underscored the importance of peace, development and improved public services during a comprehensive visit to various parts of Orakzai district.

Accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Irfanuddin, District Police Officer Shaukat Ali, senior officials and tribal elders, the commissioner inaugurated a cricket tournament in Ghaljo tehsil and appreciated the collective efforts of the provincial government, security forces, police and local elders in maintaining peace and stability in the district.

During the visit, the commissioner inspected Government Primary school Andkhel and middle School Anjani, where he reviewed academic activities, sanitation conditions and availability of basic facilities.

He distributed cash prizes among high-performing students and directed education officials to resolve pending issues of the schools on a priority basis.

Syed Motasim Billah Shah also visited Basic Health Units in Anjani and Andkhel, the Veterinary Hospital in Andkhel and Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Ghaljo.

He reviewed the availability of medicines, attendance of medical staff, vaccination arrangements and overall healthcare facilities.

He instructed health authorities to ensure better delivery of medical services, while directing veterinary officials to organize regular awareness and treatment camps to protect livestock from seasonal diseases.

Chairing a meeting at Ghaljo Headquarters, the commissioner directed the relevant departments to expedite the shifting of district and tehsil offices to Kalaya and Ghaljo headquarters to improve public access to government services and enhance administrative efficiency.

He reiterated that the government was committed to strengthening institutions, improving service delivery and ensuring sustainable peace and development across the region.
