ABBOTTABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th May, 2026) Commissioner Hazara division Fayaz Ali Shah on Tuesday directed that all relevant departments to work in a coordinated manner to ensure safe and improved travel facilities for citizens.
The directive was issued by Commissioner Hazara Division Fayaz Ali Shah while chairing a meeting on Traffic Management (GGRM) and the Divisional Action Plan.
The meeting reviewed in detail measures aimed at improving traffic flow across Hazara Division, enhancing civic facilities, and preventing road accidents.
During the briefing, the SSP Traffic presented the divisional traffic strategy, highlighting initiatives including traffic management improvements, congestion reduction, camera-based monitoring, school zone safety measures, establishment of a central control room, and effective enforcement of traffic laws.
The Commissioner stated that, in view of the growing urban population and increasing traffic pressure, the establishment of a modern and efficient traffic system has become essential.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>He emphasized that special focus must be given to school zone safety, including zebra crossings, traffic signals, signboards, and pedestrian protection.
Several key decisions were made in the meeting, including the immediate repair of the Saran Chowk overhead bridge, improved parking arrangements, installation of zebra crossings and traffic signs, repair of Pan Chowk Road, and a ban on heavy traffic entering the area.
Measures were also approved to remove encroachments, monitor traffic violations through the Command and Control System, and relocate roadside garbage bins to ensure smooth traffic flow.
The Commissioner directed all concerned departments to ensure timely and effective implementation of these decisions so that citizens can benefit from a safer, cleaner, and improved transport system.
The meeting concluded with a commitment that all institutions will continue to work together to enhance traffic management and civic facilities across Hazara Division through mutual cooperation.
