Commissioner for zero tolerance policy against overcharging

MULTAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th May, 2026) A meeting regarding Eid-ul-Adha arrangements was chaired by Commissioner Aamir Kareem Khan, with Deputy Commissioners of all four districts and officers from relevant departments in attendance.

The meeting reviewed administrative preparations related to cleanliness, security, traffic management, cattle markets and public facilitation measures.

Commissioner directed district administrations to adopt a zero-tolerance policy against overcharging in cattle markets and public transport. He ordered strict legal action against transporters and market operators found charging extra fares or fees, with immediate refunds to be ensured for affected citizens.

He also ordered a crackdown against illegal cattle markets and directed that buying and selling activities be restricted to officially notified markets only. The Commissioner directed authorities to establish medical camps, livestock camps, tick-spray facilities, parking areas, washrooms and clearly marked sale points at cattle markets, along with prominent directional signage for public convenience.

He further directed departments to complete advance arrangements for waste bag distribution and prompt disposal of sacrificial waste before Chand Raat.

During the meeting, strict cleanliness measures were ordered across major roads, streets, parks, graveyards and bus terminals.

Waste Management Companies were directed to ensure road cleaning and washing operations, while sanitation workers’ field presence, timely salaries, food and drinking water arrangements were also emphasized. Commissioner Aamir Kareem Khan also directed authorities to incorporate Safe City cameras, drone monitoring, central control rooms, traffic management plans, vehicle fitness inspections and street light maintenance into the Eid security and facilitation plan.

He said visible improvements in cleanliness, traffic management and public services must be witnessed this Eid-ul-Adha compared to previous years.
