Commissioner for effective measures to prevent air pollution

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Feb, 2026) The divisional administration has decided to ensure effective measures to prevent

water and air pollution across the division.

Chairing a meeting of the divisional environmental approval committee here on Tuesday,

Commissioner Raja Jahangir Anwar said that suggestions have been sought from the experts in this regard.

He said that although, the smog situation in the division remain under-control as compared to the past months

due to the effective measures, but still, there is a dire need to take more measures such as shifting brick kilns

to zigzag technology, reduce the incidents of burning crop residues, testing by the Fuel Testing Lab etc.

He also urged the promotion of electric vehicles for environmental protection.

The commissioner approved establishment of 11 poultry farms and deferred 4 other cases due to

non-compliance with the required NOCs and conditions.
