Commissioner directs foolproof security arrangements during Ramazan in DIKhan

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Feb, 2026) Commissioner Dera Ismail Khan Division Daud Khan chaired an important meeting of the Divisional Intelligence Coordination Committee (DICC) to review the overall law and order situation and security arrangements across the division.

The meeting was attended by Regional Police Officer Syed Ashfaq Anwar, Assistant to Commissioner (Political and Development) Sajjad Baloch, senior officials of law enforcement agencies, district administration officers and representatives of other relevant departments.

At the outset, a detailed review of the implementation status of decisions taken in the previous meeting was presented. Officials informed the forum that significant progress had been achieved on most decisions, while further measures were underway to ensure swift implementation of the remaining points.

The commissioner directed all departments to further strengthen coordination to ensure that the benefits of decisions reach the grassroots level.

Special focus was given to security and administrative arrangements for Ramazan 2026. The commissioner directed authorities to ensure foolproof security at mosques, imambargahs, markets and other public places.

He instructed that police patrolling be enhanced during Sehr and Iftar timings, effective traffic management plans be implemented and strict monitoring of essential commodities be ensured to facilitate the public.

The meeting also discussed in detail the process of repatriation of illegal foreign nationals. The forum was informed that the phased return of illegally residing individuals was continuing in line with the government policy.

The commissioner directed that a coordinated strategy be adopted while ensuring compliance with legal requirements and human rights considerations.

Progress under the Provincial Action Plan (PAP) was also reviewed. The commissioner emphasized strict implementation of the zero-tolerance policy against extremism, hate speech and unlawful activities, adding that all available resources should be utilized to achieve the objectives of the National Action Plan.

A comprehensive briefing was given on the overall law and order situation in the division, establishment and functioning of joint check posts, monthly threat assessments and security audits of important installations.

The commissioner directed that security of sensitive locations, government buildings, educational institutions and key installations be further strengthened. He also stressed the need to make intelligence-sharing mechanisms more effective to counter any potential threats on time.

Reiterating the importance of inter-agency coordination, the commissioner underscored the adoption of a joint strategy to maintain sustainable peace in the division. He reaffirmed that protection of life and property of citizens remained the government’s top priority and that no negligence in this regard would be tolerated.

It was decided at the conclusion of the meeting that all concerned departments would regularly share performance reports and progress on assigned targets would be reviewed in the next session.
