Commissioner chairs jirga on maintaining peace, promoting tourism in Baleja

ABBOTTABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Jul, 2026) Commissioner Hazara, Fayyaz Ali Shah, chaired an important jirga at the Commissioner Office Abbottabad to discuss the law and order situation in the Baleja area and measures for promoting tourism.

The jirga was attended by Muhammad Nawaz Khan, Sardar Muhammad Riaz, Nasir Mahmood Satti, and other respected elders and notables from the area.

During the meeting, participants held detailed discussions on the overall law and order situation, mutual harmony, and measures to ensure lasting peace in the region. The local elders reaffirmed their commitment to promoting peace, brotherhood, tolerance, and unity, and pledged to continue resolving disputes through the traditional jirga system, mutual consultation, and dialogue.

Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner Hazara Fayyaz Ali Shah said that Baleja is blessed with natural beauty and possesses significant potential for tourism development.

He emphasized that sustainable peace is the foundation of progress and prosperity, urging local elders to play an active role in maintaining peace and stability, strengthening social cohesion, and contributing to the area's development.

He further said that the establishment of lasting peace in Baleja Meadow and adjoining areas would boost tourism, helping to project the region's positive image while creating new opportunities for employment, business, and economic growth for the local population.

At the conclusion of the jirga, all participants reaffirmed their collective commitment to working together for sustainable peace, brotherhood, and mutual cooperation in the area.
