Commissioner, CCPO inspect procession route, central control room fully operational

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Mar, 2026) Lahore administration and police have completed comprehensive security and municipal arrangements for the central Youm-e-Shahadat of Hazrat Ali (RA) procession, observed on the 21st of Ramadan.

Commissioner Lahore Marryam Khan and CCPO Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana conducted an inspection of the main procession route, covering various areas from Akbari Gate to Mubarak Haveli and Bibi Pak Daman, to review security and logistical arrangements.

Deputy Commissioner Lahore Ali Ijaz, and DIG Operations Lahore Dr. Faisal Kamran were also present during the inspection and provided detailed briefings on the deployment and preparedness along the route.

The central procession commenced on schedule from Mubarak Haveli and is expected to conclude at Karbala Gamay Shah. The administration confirmed that police, district officials, and relevant departments have been deployed along the route to ensure law and order, while a central control room and monitoring center with live surveillance is fully operational to track the procession in real time.

CCPO Bilal Siddique Kamyana said that the police have been placed on high alert, and female officers are stationed along the route to ensure the safety of women mourners. Vigilance will remain in place until the safe conclusion of all processions and religious gatherings.

Commissioner Lahore Marryam Khan said that officials also visited Imambargahs along the route and held meetings with procession organizers. Organizers expressed satisfaction with the arrangements, which include security, crowd management, and traffic control.

She emphasized that the administration has ensured foolproof arrangements to allow the procession to proceed peacefully and according to schedule, reflecting the government’s commitment to maintaining law and order during major religious observances in the provincial capital.
