Commissioner approves Rs 4.01 billion budget for MC Sargodha

SARGODHA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th Jul, 2026) Divisional Commissioner Hafiz Shaukat Ali on Wednesday presided over a meeting

which unanimously approved the Municipal Corporation Sargodha’s budget for the

fiscal year 2026-27, amounting to a total of Rs 4.01 billion.

The meeting was attended by Chief Officer Municipal Corporation Ahmad Bilal Makhdoom,

the Municipal Officer for Finance, the Municipal Officer for Planning, and other relevant officials.

It was briefed during the session that the budget estimates include over Rs 1.825 billion

to be received through government grants and over Rs 1.309 billion to be generated

from the corporation's own revenue sources.

According to the approved documents, over Rs 3.399 billion have been allocated

for non-developmental expenditures, while Rs 459 million were earmarked for the

Annual Development Programme and various government grant schemes.

A closing balance of Rs 154.407 million was also estimated for the conclusion

of the fiscal year.

Addressing the participants, Commissioner Hafiz Shaukat Ali stated that the budget

was designed with a focus on public interest, transparent financial discipline, and

the improvement of urban amenities.

He directed the authorities to prioritize the enhancement of municipal services,

such as sanitation, sewerage, road maintenance, and street lighting, while ensuring

the effective utilization of resources.

The Commissioner further emphasized that all officers concerned must fulfill their

duties with integrity to ensure the timely completion of development projects and

the provision of better facilities to the residents of Sargodha.
