Commendation certificates, cash rewards announced for police prsonnel

TANK, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th Mar, 2026) Regional Police Officer (RPO) Dera region, Syed Ashfaq Anwar and District Police Officer (DPO) Tank, Abdul Sammad Khan have announced commendation certificates along with cash rewards for the Tangi police post personnel who successfully foiled the terrorist attack on the post.

One constable sustained injuries during the exchange of fire, while the attackers managed to flee.

According to police spokesman, armed militants belonging to Fitna Al-Khawarij had launched a sudden attack on Tangi Police Post, located within the jurisdiction of Jandola Police Station, using both light and heavy weapons while taking advantage of the darkness.

However, the police personnel stationed at the post responded immediately with a well-organized and effective counter-operation, confronting the attackers bravely.

During the exchange of fire, Constable Chinnar Gul was injured but continued to hold his position and fought alongside his colleagues despite his injuries.

Due to the determined and professional response by the police, the attackers were forced to retreat and flee.

Officials said during the attack, District Police Officer (DPO) Tank, Abdul Samad Khan, remained in constant contact with the personnel on the ground and issued necessary instructions moment by moment, which helped keep the morale of the force high.

Timely backup support was also provided by the Pakistan Army’s 134 Wing Jandola.

Police further said while fleeing, the terrorists left behind a 16-kilogram explosive device, a rocket launcher, and mortar shells at the site.

On the instructions of the DPO Tank, the Bomb Disposal Squad reached the location and safely defused the explosives.

Later, DPO Tank Abdul Sammad Khan had visited the civil hospital to inquire after the health of injured Constable

Chanar Gul and praised his bravery.
