Commander of Turkish Land Forces calls on Khawaja Muhammad Asif

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Jun, 2026) Commander of the Turkish Land Forces Gen Metin TOKEL called on the Federal Minister for Defence, Khawaja Muhammad Asif here Thursday.

During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed the longstanding brotherly relations between Pakistan and Türkiye, rooted in shared history, mutual trust, strong people to people contact and close cooperation, said a press release.

The Turkish Chief of the Land Forces appreciated Pakistan’s efforts for peace and stability in the region.

He highlighted the importance of the Pakistan–Türkiye High-Level Military Dialogue Group (HLMDG) as an effective platform for strengthening defence, military, and defence-industrial cooperation between the two countries.

The visiting dignitary underscored Türkiye’s commitment to regional peace and stability and emphasized the importance of cooperation.

The Defence Minister expressed appreciation for the steadfast support extended by the leadership and people of Türkiye, particularly during challenging times.

Both sides exchanged views on matters of mutual interest, including avenues for further enhancing defence collaboration.

The meeting concluded with a shared resolve to further strengthen the Pakistan–Türkiye defence partnership, the press release said.
