Punjab Counter Narcotics Force (CNF) has continued its vigorous province-wide crackdown against drug trafficking, conducting 35 intelligence-based operations across Punjab during the last seven days
LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Apr, 2026) Punjab Counter Narcotics Force (CNF) has continued its vigorous province-wide crackdown against drug trafficking, conducting 35 intelligence-based operations across Punjab during the last seven days.
According to the CNF spokesperson, successful operations were carried out in Lahore, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rawalpindi, Sahiwal, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, and Bahawalpur.
During these operations, 32 drug traffickers were arrested, while a total of 136.12 kilograms of narcotics were recovered.
The estimated market value of the seized drugs is reported to be over Rs. 31 million, added spokesperson.
The recovered narcotics include hashish, opium, ice (methamphetamine), cannabis, heroin, and ecstasy tablets.
In addition, two pistols were also recovered during the operations.
The DG CNF said that the crackdown is being carried out in line with the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif for a "Drug-Free Punjab." He further added that the CNF has so far seized a total of 15.9 tons of narcotics, with a cumulative value of Rs. 2.156 billion.
The DG emphasised that continued public cooperation is essential for further success in eliminating drugs from society.
He urged citizens to play their role by reporting suspicious activities to help eradicate the menace of narcotics from the province.
