LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd Jul, 2026) Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Thursday took notice of the roof collapse at a summer camp operating private school in Baghbanpura and sought a report on the incident from Commissioner Lahore and Director General of Rescue 1122.
The Chief Minister expressed profound grief and sorrow over the death of a child in the incident and extended heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the bereaved family.
She commended Rescue 1122 for safely rescuing more than 10 children from the debris and directed the rescue teams to expedite the operation to ensure the safe recovery of any children who might still be trapped under the rubble.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz directed that the injured children and other affected persons be provided with the best available medical treatment without delay.
She also ordered strict legal action against those responsible for negligence or substandard construction and directed that an immediate safety audit of all school buildings located in densely populated areas across Punjab be carried out.
"The rescue operation must continue without interruption. Even a single second of delay will not be tolerated," the Chief Minister said.
