CM inaugurates development projects worth Rs. 25 bln in Mansehra

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th May, 2026) Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Khan Afridi on Wednesday inaugurated and performed groundbreaking for 12 major development projects worth over Rs. 25 billion during his visit to Mansehra district.

The projects were aimed at improving basic public services and accelerating overall development in the area, with particular emphasis on clean drinking water, healthcare, education, and sports facilities. The initiatives were expected to enhance the quality of life for residents and to bring underdeveloped areas into the mainstream.

Key projects included the Rs. 18.5 billion Mansehra Gravity Flow Water Supply Scheme, Rs. two billion Institute of Allied Health Sciences, Rs. 1.8 billion Achhar Nala Dam, and Rs. one billion Thakra Stadium upgradation project.

Other initiatives comprised the upgradation of BHU Sandesar, establishment of a Rescue Station at Pano Dheri, inauguration of a Degree College for Boys, and laying the foundation stone for a Cath Lab.

Additionally, land has been allocated for a graveyard, while projects including the establishment of Kotkay Park, Mansehra Water Supply Scheme, and creation of Tehsil Tanawal were also part of the development package.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony, the Chief Minister said these projects were a gift for the people of Mansehra and would bring tangible improvements in their daily lives. He reiterated that balanced development of all districts was the government’s top priority and assured that resources were being utilized in a fair and transparent manner.

He added that spending public funds on public welfare was the government’s responsibility and that reforms in key sectors including health, education, clean drinking water, and sports were ongoing.

The Chief Minister reaffirmed his commitment to extending development to remote areas and ensuring completion of all projects in accordance with transparency, merit, and quality standards.
