CM calls for global efforts to eliminate islamophobia

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Mar, 2026) Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has said that discrimination and unjust treatment of Muslims worldwide are the result of growing Islamophobia and called for stronger global efforts to eradicate it.

In her message on the International Day to Combat Islamophobia, she described Islamophobia as condemnable and highlighted that innocent Muslims in Palestine and Kashmir continue to face oppression and injustice due to this phenomenon.

CM Maryam Nawaz emphasized that islam is a religion of peace and that Muslims firmly believe in peace and coexistence.

She noted that Islam guarantees fundamental human rights and stressed that promoting Islamic values positively can help counter Islamophobia.

The Chief Minister urged Muslim countries to set aside differences and present a united front. She added that practicing Islamic principles and responsible individual conduct play a key role in addressing intolerance.

CM Maryam Nawaz called on people to reaffirm their commitment to tolerance, patience, and mutual respect, and underlined the need for continued global efforts to eliminate Islamophobia.
