CM Bugti inaugurates digital dashboard & publications to promote information-based policy making in Balochistan

QUETTA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Apr, 2026) Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Wednesday inaugurated the digital dashboard and publications of the Bureau of Statistics under the Planning and Development Department here, with the aim of promoting information-based policy-making in the province and modernizing development planning.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by provincial ministers, members of the provincial assembly, Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan, Additional Chief Secretary Planning and Development Zahid Saleem and other senior officials.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister was given a detailed briefing about the digital dashboard and related publications, in which he was informed that the said digital dashboard includes comprehensive and integrated data related to 17 different sectors of the province, which will also contain complete details of development projects.

The briefing said that this system will make the policy-making and decision-making process more effective and transparent.

The briefing stated that two new data-related reports would be added every year in the future to further strengthen the information system.

The meeting also highlighted the overall development and growth trends in various sectors since 2010.

Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfaraz Bugti termed this initiative as an important milestone and said that on the basis of available data, the government could formulate more effective and better policies in the public interest.

He said that development depends on timely and correct planning and the Balochistan government believes in the equal development of all sectors, data related to government vacancies and the people who applied for them were also presented during the meeting.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti contacted a person mentioned in the database who had applied for 45 different vacancies and announced that he would be given a job.

The Chief Minister Balochistan congratulated Provincial Minister Mir Zahoor Ahmed Buledi, Additional Chief Secretary P&D and his team on this important development and decided to give appreciation certificates and cash awards to the concerned team for their outstanding performance in collecting data and preparing the dashboard.

He also announced that the Balochistan government would further accelerate the development process by promoting transparency, merit and effective use of modern technology so as to ensure the provision of better facilities to the people.
