CM Bugti expresses resent on delay in release of funds for People’s Train Service project

QUETTA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Mar, 2026) Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Thursday expressed his resent over the delay in the release of funds for the People's Train Service project.

He also directed the concerned authorities to complete the project on priority basis so that better and safer travel facilities could be provided to the public saying no negligence would be tolerated in this regard.

He said this while chairing a meeting to review the progress of ongoing development projects under the Public Sector Development Program here at the Chief Minister Secretariat.

The meeting was attended by Provincial Minister Mir Saleem Khan Khosa, Provincial Minister Mir Sadiq Umrani, Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan, secretaries of various departments and high officials.

A detailed briefing was given on the progress of various development projects in the meeting.

The briefing was informed that the project to provide fiber optical internet in 1100 educational institutions of Balochistan is progressing rapidly and would be completed within the next six months.

The officials said that the completion of this project would promote digital education and modern teaching facilities in educational institutions.

It was further informed that in the next phase, a plan to connect all educational institutions, hospitals and government offices of the province to the fiber optical network is also under consideration so that digital governance and modern facilities could be promoted in the province.

The meeting was also informed about the Enterprises Development Program, under which youth are being trained in various fields.

The briefing was informed that through this program, a target has been set to connect 60,000 youth with employment and business activities so that economic activities could be promoted in the province and the youth would be provided with decent employment opportunities.

Chairman Balochistan Mir Sarfaraz Bugti expressed his anger over the delay in the release of funds for the People's Train Service project and directed the concerned authorities to complete the project on priority basis so that better and safer travel facilities could be provided to the public.

The meeting was informed that effective complaint cells are being established from the tehsil level to the provincial level for the immediate resolution of public issues, where citizens would be able to register their complaints.

On this occasion, Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti said that the government would utilize all available resources to resolve public issues and he himself could also monitor the process of redressal of public grievances.

He said that various measures were also considered to promote good governance and improve the performance of government institutions.

The Chief Minister directed that all departments should accelerate reform measures and ensure provision of better services to the public.

The meeting also directed to complete prefabricated offices and accommodation arrangements for administrative officers in remote and infrastructure-deprived areas including new divisions and districts as soon as possible so that administrative affairs could be run effectively there.

The meeting was also briefed on projects for providing clean drinking water, officials said that work is underway on clean water supply projects in all union councils of the province and the completion of this project would provide clean drinking water to the public.

Regarding the improvement of municipal services, the meeting was informed that a plan is underway to provide modern machinery to 95 municipal committees of the province and this machinery would be provided to the relevant institutions by June 30, which could further improve sanitation and other local government services.

About the ongoing projects for improvement in the education sector, it was informed in the meeting that a plan is underway to construct two additional rooms in four thousand single-room schools of Balochistan and instructions have been given to expedite work on this project so that a better educational environment to be provided to the students.

The meeting was apprised that during the last one year, one hundred thousand out-of-school children have been re-admitted to educational institutions, which is an important step for the promotion of education.

The meeting was also briefed on the ongoing operation to eradicate illegal poppy crops in the province.

Officials said that operations have been accelerated to destroy illegal crops and action is being taken against the elements involved in it as per the law.

On this occasion, Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti directed that all ongoing development projects should be completed by June 30 as per the set targets.

He clarified that the unused funds of the departments that fail to achieve the targets within the stipulated period would be withdrawn and transferred to such departments that are working on development projects in a fast and effective manner.

The Chief Minister said that timely completion of ongoing development projects in the province is the top priority of the

government and no negligence would be tolerated in this regard.

He directed that all departments ensure the speed, quality and transparency of development projects so that the people could get the fruits of these projects as soon as possible.

Mir Sarfraz Bugti said that public welfare, better governance and provision of basic amenities are top priorities of the government and the government is utilizing all available resources for the sustainable development of the Balochistan province and the prosperity of the people.
