CM administers oath to newly elected office bearers of PPC

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Feb, 2026) Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Muhammad Sohail Afridi here Saturday administered oath to newly elected office bearers of Peshawar Press Club (PPC) and congratulated journalist community for continuing democratic process.

Addressing the oath taking ceremony, he said that journalist community of Peshawar never delayed elections despite unfavorable conditions adding that elections in PPC speaks of the ingrained democratic norms in the journalist fraternity

He paid tribute to journalist community for their sacrifices, professionalism and working under unfavorable circumstances including militancy.

He said that we want to strengthen journalism and all the institutions that give strength to democracy.

He said that journalists of KP are free to pursue their profession and criticize for giving orientation to the government.

CM also announced to increase scholarships from 100 to 150, salorization, increase endowment fund from 200 million to 500 million rupees. He also assured cooperation to resolve issues faced by journalist community.
