ABBOTTABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Apr, 2026) A Climate Smart Agriculture awareness program was held at the Agriculture Extension Office Abbottabad under the Provincial Government’s Good Governance Road Map and District Service Delivery initiative, aimed at promoting modern agricultural practices among farmers.
Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad, Sarmad Saleem Akram, attended the program as the chief guest. The event focused on the development of the agriculture sector and raising awareness among farmers regarding climate smart agriculture, vertical farming techniques, and the availability of modern agricultural inputs.
District Director Agriculture Abbottabad, Altaf ur Rehman, briefed the participants in detail about ongoing projects and highlighted various modern initiatives being introduced to improve agricultural productivity in the region.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized that agriculture plays a vital role in national development. He assured that the government is committed to providing all possible support and facilities to farmers to strengthen the sector.
He urged farmers to adopt modern agricultural techniques, especially climate smart practices, and to obtain proper training to cope with changing weather patterns. He added that such measures are essential to improve crop yield and minimize losses caused by climate change.
The program was also attended by Deputy Director Agriculture Sajid Siddiq, President Model Farm Services Center Rashid Khan, and other officials. A detailed question-and-answer session was held in which farmers and agriculture staff discussed their issues and received guidance from experts.
