KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th May, 2026) The Karachi administration is providing every possible facility for buying and selling of sacrificial animals in the city, said Commissioner Karachi Syed Hassan Naqvi on Tuesday.
Syed Hassan Naqvi said this while addressing during a visit to the main cattle market established at Northern Bypass along with Additional Inspector General of Police Karachi Azad Khan.
On the occasion, he inaugurated, for the first time in history, a payment and receipt system through cash deposit machines.
He also inaugurated the digital transaction facility for funds introduced by seven different banks with the cooperation of the State Bank.
He said that the cattle markets in all districts have been established with the cooperation of Tehsil Municipal Administrations (TMAs) Karachi Metropolitan Corporatio (KMC) and Cantonment board, and measures have been taken to ensure secure payment and receipt of money, to prevent fraud in transactions at Northern bypass.
The State Bank of Pakistan has provided the support for introducing this digital system. Steps have been taken in coordination with police and Rangers to ensure the transportation of animals is fully secure, he said.
Earlier, representatives of Malir Cantonment Board gave Commissioner Karachi and the Additional Inspector General of Police a detailed briefing on the cattle market.
It was informed that the cattle market, established at Northern Bypass, has been set up with comprehensive planning.

To make monetary transactions completely secure, under the guidance of the Commissioner Karachi Office and with the cooperation of the State Bank, a system of payment and receipt through Cash Deposit Machines (CDMs) has been introduced instead of cash payments.
According to the handout issued by the office of commissioner karachi , the animal mark is considered the largest in Asia.
The market has all sacrificial animals including cows, goats, and camels. For all animals, sheds have been set up with classification according to their quality, type, importance, and nature to facilitate and ease and attract buyers.
Special parking arrangements have been made. All facilities required for animals and owners, including water and fodder, have been provided.
According to the Commissioner Office handout, this cash deposit system through machines is part of the Government of Pakistan’s “Cashless Pakistan” initiative, aimed at encouraging digital transactions and financial inclusion.
The goal is to make transactions easier for buyers and sellers and to support the government’s efforts to reduce reliance on cash payment and receipt systems.
