MULTAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd May, 2026) Multan divisional administration has decided to impose a Rs50,000 fine on anyone found dumping or disposing of waste illegally during Eid ul Adha, under Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz's zero-tolerance policy.
The Commissioner also directed authorities to register criminal cases against those throwing waste into drains and manholes.
Commissioner Amir Karim Khan, accompanied by RPO Muhammad Usman Gondal, visited the Suthra Punjab office to review Eid cleanliness arrangements. The Commissioner gave clear instructions that the sanitation operation must be exemplary throughout all three days of Eid and that the entire division must appear completely clean once the holidays are over.
The Punjab government will directly monitor the cleanliness drive.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Special teams have been deployed across the division for garbage collection, lime spraying, road washing with rose water, and sewerage surveillance. The Commissioner warned the negligence or poor performance by any department will not be tolerated.
Sale and purchase of sacrificial animals inside residential areas has been strictly banned. A complete ban on burning animal heads and trotters has also been enforced from May 27 to June 2 under Section 144. Special waste bag distribution camps will be set up at cattle markets to assist animal buyers in proper waste disposal.
The Commissioner further directed concerned authorities to reduce response time for resolving public complaints, emphasising that citizen convenience remains the top priority throughout the Eid period.
