Chiniot police intensify crackdown under ‘Drug Free Punjab’ drive

CHINIOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Apr, 2026) A large-scale crackdown against drug traffickers is underway under the “Drug Free Punjab” campaign, with Chiniot Police achieving significant arrests during the month of April.

According to police officials, 57 alleged drug peddlers were arrested from different parts of the district during targeted operations carried out this month.

Law enforcement agencies recovered over 29.7 kilograms of hashish, 7.6 kilograms of heroin, and 710 litres of alcohol from the possession of the arrested suspects, officials added.

Cases have been registered against the accused at various police stations under narcotics-related provisions, while investigations are continuing to dismantle wider networks involved in the illegal drug trade.
