CHINIOT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Feb, 2026) Chiniot Police have launched a full-scale crackdown against drug peddlers, arresting 44 suspects and recovering significant quantities of narcotics. The operation is part of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif's vision for a "Drug-Free Punjab".
According to police sources, the police recovered over 22 kg of hashish, 11 kg of heroin, 2 kg of opium, and 727 liters of alcohol from the arrested suspects. Cases have been registered against them under narcotics provisions, with further investigation underway.
District Police Officer (DPO) Dr. Naveed Atif stated that practical steps are being taken to save generations from the drug scourge. A special campaign is underway to crack down on drug dealers, reflecting the police's commitment to tackling the issue.
The operation aims to curb the spread of narcotics and protect the community.
