CHINIOT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Mar, 2026) On the directions of District Police Officer Dr. Naveed Atif, Chiniot Police on Monday launched a comprehensive crackdown against drug peddlers across Chiniot, resulting in the arrest of four suspects during targeted operations.
Police sources said the arrests were made during intelligence-based operations conducted in the jurisdictions of Langrana, Kot Wasawa, Bhowana, and Rajua police stations. During the operations, officers recovered more than six kilograms of heroin and hashish from the possession of the suspects.
Cases have been registered against the arrested individuals under relevant narcotics laws at the concerned police stations, while further investigations are underway to trace possible networks involved in drug trafficking.
Speaking on the occasion, DPO Dr. Naveed Atif said that practical steps are being taken across the district to protect the younger generation from the menace of drugs. He added that a special campaign against drug peddlers is underway and will continue until the district is cleared of narcotics-related activities.
