CHINIOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th May, 2026) Chiniot Police arrested 25 suspects during the last 24 hours as part of an ongoing crackdown against criminal activities across the district, officials said on Tuesday.

According to police sources, two suspects involved in the illegal liquor trade were arrested and more than 50 litres of liquor were recovered during operations against drug dealers. Police also launched action against illegal advertising activities and detained 15 individuals accused of unlawful publicity and wall-chalking violations.

In separate operations, eight suspects were arrested on charges including illegal gas refilling, reckless driving, electricity theft and negligent speeding.

Authorities said the operations were aimed at improving public safety and enforcing law across the district.

Police further stated that, through the Police Post App, 644 suspicious individuals and 265 suspicious vehicles were checked during routine inspections. Meanwhile, traffic police issued challans to 100 vehicles for violating traffic regulations and imposed fines exceeding Rs200,000.
