Chiniot pays tribute to martyrs on first anniversary of 'War of Truth' victory

CHINIOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th May, 2026) A grand ceremony was held at the Martyrs’ Memorial on Saturday to commemorate one year since the historic victory in the War of Truth.

Deputy Commissioner Ayesha Rizwan and DPO Dr. Naveed Atif laid a wreath at the memorial and lit candles to pay tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country.

Additional Deputy Commissioner General Wasiq Abbas Haral, district officers, police officers, and a large number of citizens were also present.

During the ceremony, participants honored the great sacrifices of the martyrs. Speaking to the media, the Deputy Commissioner and DPO said the historic victory was the result of national unity, the professional capabilities of the Pakistani armed forces, and the eternal sacrifices of the martyrs.

Ayesha said the martyrs who gave their lives for the defense of the homeland and the establishment of peace are the real heroes of the nation.

She added that peace and stability in the country have been established thanks to their sacrifices. DPO Dr. Naveed Atif stated that the martyrs of the police and security agencies have made unparalleled sacrifices for the protection of the country and the nation, which can never be forgotten.

The ceremony concluded with special prayers for the development and prosperity of the country, peace and security, high ranks for the martyrs, and the success and stability of the Pakistani armed forces.
