CHINIOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Jun, 2026) The district administration and police on Tuesday held a comprehensive consultative meeting with Taazia license holders and procession organizers to finalize security and administrative arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram, with a strong focus on ensuring peaceful observance of religious events across the district.
The meeting was jointly chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue (ADCR) Muhammad Ahmar Ali and SP Investigation Usman Malik. It was attended by Assistant Commissioners, police officers, and representatives of the Municipal Committee, District Council, Saaf Punjab Programme, WASA, WAPDA, Health Department, Civil Defence, Rescue 1122, and other relevant departments. Participants reviewed in detail the arrangements for processions and gatherings scheduled during Muharram-ul-Haram.
Addressing the meeting, ADCR Muhammad Ahmar Ali directed all concerned departments to ensure timely completion of repair and maintenance work on procession routes, including cleanliness drives, restoration of streetlights, drainage improvements, and provision of safe drinking water. He stressed that all necessary measures should be taken to facilitate mourners and prevent any inconvenience during the holy month.

He said additional security personnel would be deployed for effective monitoring of processions and religious gatherings, while enhanced arrangements would be made at sensitive locations. He urged organizers to strictly adhere to the code of conduct and immediately report any suspicious activity to law enforcement agencies.
During the meeting, Taazia license holders and procession organizers presented their concerns and demands. The administration assured them that all genuine issues would be addressed and directed relevant departments to take prompt action where required. Officials reiterated that all available resources were being utilized to ensure the peaceful conduct of Muharram-ul-Haram and warned that negligence in carrying out assigned responsibilities would not be tolerated.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Taazia license holders and procession organizers pledged full cooperation with the district administration and police. They reaffirmed their commitment to promoting peace, religious harmony, tolerance, and brotherhood throughout Muharram-ul-Haram.
