CHINIOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Jul, 2026) The district administration on Tuesday hosted a ceremony to honor sanitation workers, Civil Defence personnel, and Rescue 1122 volunteers for their outstanding services during Muharram, in line with the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.

Deputy Commissioner Ayesha Rizwan organized a luncheon at a local marquee to recognize the efforts of workers associated with the Suthra Punjab Programme, Civil Defence, and Rescue 1122, who played a key role in maintaining cleanliness, providing emergency response, and ensuring civic facilities throughout Muharram. The event was attended by Managing Director Suthra Punjab and Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Wasiq Abbas Haral, Assistant Commissioner Shaista Jabeen, Suthra Punjab Manager Muhammad Hamza, Muhammad Salman, supervisors, and other district officials.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Ayesha Rizwan praised the dedication and commitment of the workers and volunteers, describing them as the "real heroes" behind the successful management of Muharram arrangements. She said their tireless efforts reflected the Punjab government's commitment to public service and acknowledged their contribution to maintaining public safety and cleanliness during the religious observances.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Wasiq Abbas Haral and Assistant Commissioner Shaista Jabeen also commended the workers, saying the district administration highly valued their professionalism and devotion to duty. They pledged continued encouragement and support for frontline personnel. The ceremony concluded with a luncheon served to all workers, officials, and volunteers in recognition of their services.
