China's producer price index up 3.9% in May

BEIJING, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM - 10th Jun, 2026) China's Producer price Index (PPI), which measures costs for goods at the factory gate, rose 3.9 percent year-on-year in May, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said today.

On a month-on-month basis, the PPI increased 0.5 percent in May, down from 1.7 percent in April, according to NBS data.

The Consumer Price Index (CPI), a key gauge of inflation, also increased 1.2 percent year-on-year in May.
