BEIJING, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Feb, 2026) China on Friday calls on Pakistan and Afghanistan to remain calm and exercise restraint, properly resolve differences through dialogue and negotiations and achieve a ceasefire as soon as possible and avoid further loss of lives.
"China supports combating all forms of terrorism and calls on both parties to remain calm and exercise restraint, properly resolve differences through dialogue and negotiation, achieve a ceasefire as soon as possible, and avoid further loss of life. This serves the fundamental interests of both countries and their peoples and is conducive to maintaining regional peace and stability," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said during her regular briefing.
The spokesperson said that China has been mediating the Pakistan-Afghanistan conflict through its own channels and is willing to continue playing a constructive role in easing tensions and improving relations between the two countries.
She said that as neighbor country and friend, China is deeply concerned about the escalation of conflict between Pakistan and Afghanistan and deeply saddened by the casualties caused.

Mao Ning pointed out that the intensity of this round of Pakistan-Afghanistan clashes has exceeded previous incidents, and any continuation or escalation would bring harm and losses to both sides.
