Child Rape Case: two suspects killed in firing

BAHAWALPUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Mar, 2026) Two suspects wanted in connection with the kidnapping, rape and murder of a 12-year-old boy were killed in a police encounter within the limits of Masafir Khana police station, while an accomplice managed to escape, police said Thursday.

According to police, the victim, identified as Javed, was allegedly kidnapped by three suspects, raped and later murdered. His body was recovered from a graveyard in the Mahro Goth area.

Police said a team intercepted the armed suspects near a sugar mill on the outskirts of the city. The suspects opened fire on the police team during the operation. “Two of the suspects were killed in firing by their own accomplice, while another managed to escape,” they added.

The deceased were identified as Arsalan and Ateeq, whose bodies were shifted to a hospital.

A search operation has been launched to trace the third suspect and bring him to justice, police said.
