Child labor cards to be prepared across province

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Feb, 2026) Child labor cards will be prepared across the province, said Labor department. Forced child labor will be declared a state and social challenge.

Data related to child labor will be collected under a central system for the first time.

Children working in brick kilns and workshops will be identified. Strict legal action will be taken against those responsible for child labor.

It may be mentioned here that the Punjab CM in December 2025 had constituted a Steering Committee to eradicate forced child labour across the province.
