QUETTA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Mar, 2026) Chief Secretary of Balochistan, Shakeel Qadir Khan, chaired a meeting of the Secretaries Committee to review key administrative reforms and governance priorities, including AI-driven recruitment, timely completion of development projects, redressal of public complaints, implementation of Google Workspace, and ensuring staff attendance across government offices.
Addressing the meeting, Shakeel Qadir Khan said the provincial government has taken a significant step to prioritize merit-based appointments. He emphasized that the objective is to place sincere, hardworking, and capable individuals in public offices to improve service delivery and governance standards.
He directed all departments to ensure upcoming vacancies are filled through an artificial intelligence-driven recruitment process, with appointments to be completed within two to three months. The move, he noted, would facilitate transparent hiring and particularly benefit the province’s youth.
Officials briefed the committee that appointment orders have already been issued to 14,000 candidates.
Declaring the timely completion of development projects a top priority, Shakeel Qadir Khan instructed departmental secretaries to strictly adhere to deadlines so that public welfare initiatives translate into tangible improvements in citizens’ quality of life.
The Chief Secretary issued strict directives to ensure regular attendance of officers and staff in the Secretariat and line departments. The meeting was informed that attendance levels among officers have already shown considerable improvement.
Shakeel Qadir Khan further instructed secretaries to give special attention to resolving public complaints registered through the File Tracking System and the Pakistan Citizen Portal. He stressed the need to promptly address pending and overdue cases to strengthen public trust in government institutions.
Highlighting future planning, Shakeel Khan said the provincial government is committed to preparing the upcoming Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) with greater transparency, taking into account the performance of the previous fiscal year. The aim, he noted, is to contribute effectively toward achieving national development goals.
