Chief Minister Inaugurates 205th Urs of Sachal Sarmast R.A in Daraza

SUKKUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th Mar, 2026) Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah, along with Sajjada Nashin and Khuwaja Abdul Haq Farooqi, inaugurated the 205th Urs of revered Sufi poet Sachal Sarmast at his shrine.

The ceremony was attended by provincial ministers Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah, Syed Riaz Hussain Shah Shirazi, Nawab Khan Wasan, MPA Halar Khan Wasan, Agha Shahbaz Khan Durrani, and others.

Addressing the media, the Chief Minister said Sachal Sarmast's shrine is a symbol of love, peace, and unity, and that his teachings promote humanity and tolerance. He prayed for the country's and the world's safety and security.

Syed Murad Ali Shah expressed concern over the situation in Iran and the region. He also mentioned the unfortunate incident in Karachi.

Regarding the Motorway project, the Chief Minister said the Pakistan People Party (PPP) leadership has been raising objections to the lack of investment in Sindh.

He thanked the Prime Minister for taking notice and directing the National Highway Authority chairman to expedite the project.

On terrorism, Syed Murad Ali Shah said the PPP is against terrorism and has suffered the most, with the assassination of its leader, Shahid Benazir Bhutto. He praised the Pakistan Army for taking strong action against terrorists.

The Chief Minister was presented with a shawl and a special shield by Sajjada Nashin, Khwaja Abdul Haq Farooqi. The Commissioner Sukkur Division, Abid Saleem Qureshi, and Deputy Commissioner, Altaf Ahmed Chachar presented shields to the Chief Minister and other dignitaries.

The event was attended by officials, including the Secretary Auqaf, Commissioner Sukkur Division, and other officials.
