ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th May, 2026) The Chief Commissioner of Islamabad on Sunday visited the cattle market set up near Zia Mosque along with the Deputy Commissioner to review arrangements ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.
During the visit, officials inspected parking, clean drinking water, traffic management and complaint handling systems, while directions were issued to ensure better facilities for thousands of buyers and traders visiting the market.
The Deputy Commissioner briefed the Chief Commissioner on the arrangements made at the market and informed him about steps taken to manage the increasing number of visitors and livestock traders. The inspection focused on facilities provided to both buyers and sellers, including sanitation, water supply and movement of vehicles around the market area.
The Chief Commissioner also carried out a detailed review of the livestock free camp established inside the market. Officials checked the availability of services and examined measures introduced to support traders and visitors during the Eid season.
During the visit, the Chief Commissioner directed the market administration to ensure full implementation of official instructions for all buyers entering the market. He stressed that any issues faced by traders should be addressed without delay to avoid inconvenience and maintain order at the site.

The Chief Commissioner ordered officials to make the complaint cell fully operational so that visitors and traders could report problems immediately and receive timely assistance.
Special instructions were issued regarding market fees charged for small and large animals. The Chief Commissioner ordered immediate action against anyone found collecting extra charges from traders or buyers beyond the approved fee structure.
Traffic arrangements on roads connected to the cattle market were another key focus of the visit. The Chief Commissioner said disruption in traffic flow on nearby roads would not be tolerated under any circumstances. He directed authorities to deploy additional traffic police personnel on roads surrounding the market to manage congestion and ensure smooth movement of vehicles.
Officials were also instructed to make sure that all facilities required by buyers visiting the cattle market remain available throughout the Eid season. The Chief Commissioner appreciated the efforts of the Municipal Corporation Islamabad for providing facilities and maintaining arrangements at the market site.
