The prominent Chaudhry Shahid Mahmood Group on Tuesday achieved a historic and remarkable victory by sweeping the elections of the District Press Club (Registered) Chiniot

CHINIOT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Mar, 2026) The prominent Chaudhry Shahid Mahmood Group on Tuesday achieved a historic and remarkable victory by sweeping the elections of the District Press Club (Registered) Chiniot. Accordingly, the group’s candidates were declared successful on all 25 key posts of the District Press Club, Union of Journalists, and Executive Council. Moreover, Chaudhry Shahid Mahmood was elected President, while Malik Muhammad Ali secured the position of General Secretary.

Meanwhile, the Election board announced that out of a total of 67 voters, 65 members actively cast their votes, reflecting a strong participation in the electoral process. Furthermore, Aurangzeb Malik was elected Senior Vice President, Ijaz Ahmed Qasmi and Syed Mudassar Kazmi were elected Vice Presidents, Talha Shabbir became Joint Secretary, Aamir Siddiqui was elected Secretary Information and Broadcasting, and Nasir Chaudhry secured the post of Finance Secretary.

In addition, Dr.

Khalid Hussain was elected President of the Union of Journalists, Jamal Abdul Nasir as Senior Vice President, Dr. Tahir Rashid Sial as General Secretary, and Haji Usman Awan as Chairman of the Executive Committee. Notably, the Chaudhry Shahid Mahmood Group had earlier been elected unopposed on 15 out of the 25 seats, therefore further strengthening its decisive position in the elections.

Consequently, jubilant celebrations were witnessed at the District Press Club Chiniot after the results were announced. Supporters enthusiastically congratulated each other, warmly distributed sweets, and joyfully showered flower petals. On this occasion, newly elected President Chaudhry Shahid Mahmood and General Secretary Malik Muhammad Ali expressed gratitude for the trust placed in them and pledged to collectively work for the development of the press club, protection of journalists’ rights, and the progressive welfare of the journalist community.
