RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Mar, 2026) Health experts have warned that rapidly changing weather conditions are increasing the risk of various health problems and urged the public to adopt preventive measures to protect themselves.
According to medical specialists, fluctuations in temperature during seasonal transitions can weaken the immune system and trigger several illnesses, particularly among children, the elderly and people with chronic diseases.
Neurosurgeon Dr. Yousaf said sudden changes in weather often lead to headaches, fatigue, sleep disturbances and stress-related neurological symptoms. He advised people to maintain a balanced routine, ensure proper sleep and avoid unnecessary exposure to extreme temperatures.
Nephrologist Dr. Adnan Ali said dehydration and electrolyte imbalance are also common during unpredictable weather.
“People should increase their water intake, especially when temperatures fluctuate, and patients with kidney problems must be particularly careful about their diet and fluid balance,” he said.
Meanwhile, homeopathic physician Dr. Manzoor Shah noted that seasonal changes often cause colds, coughs, allergies and throat infections. He advised people to strengthen their immunity through a healthy diet, fresh fruits and regular physical activity.
The doctors collectively emphasized the importance of wearing weather-appropriate clothing, maintaining hygiene, drinking adequate fluids and seeking timely medical advice if symptoms persist.
They said awareness and simple preventive measures can help people stay healthy during changing weather conditions. APP/359
