Chairperson PEMRA calls on Faisal Kundi

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Mar, 2026) Chairperson of Pakistan Electronic Media Regulator Authority (PEMRA) Ambreen Jan Wednesday called on Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi at the Governor's House in Islamabad, where both sides discussed matters of mutual interest, the role of media, and the prevailing national situation.

During the meeting, the Governor appreciated the role of PEMRA and commended its performance, said a news release issued here by the party secretariat.

He said that in the current circumstances, PEMRA’s responsibilities have further increased and its proactive role is crucial for promoting responsible journalism.

Faisal Kundi emphasized that the media must ensure the dissemination of accurate and timely information to positively guide society.

He underscored the importance of strengthening ethical standards in journalism.

The meeting also discussed the early restoration of the PEMRA office established in 2008 in Dera Ismail Khan.

Both sides agreed that reviving the office would improve media regulation and facilitate journalists at the local level.

On the occasion, Ambreen Jan briefed the Governor on ongoing initiatives by PEMRA.

The Governor expressed optimism that under her leadership, the institution would continue to enhance its performance.
