Chairman BoG Dr Bangash reviews rehabilitation services at PCP

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th Jul, 2026) Dr. Shahzad Khan Bangash, Former Chief Secretary KP and Chairman BoG PCP, accompanied by members of BoG on Wednesday paid a comprehensive visit to various departments of the Paraplegic Center Peshawar to review the facilities and rehabilitation services being provided to patients.

Director Rehabilitation Dr. Aamir Zeb, briefed them on the Center’s performance, achievements and multidisciplinary rehabilitation services of PCP. He informed that the Paraplegic Center Peshawar is Pakistan’s premier rehabilitation institution, providing comprehensive physical, psychological and social rehabilitation services under one roof for individuals with spinal cord injuries, polio and other persons with disabilities(PwDs).

He further explained that the Center offers a full range of rehabilitation services completely free of cost, including medical rehabilitation, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, nursing care, orthotics, wheelchair services, psychosocial rehabilitation and vocational rehabilitation. These services are aimed at enabling persons with disabilities to regain independence and reintegrate into society as productive and dignified citizens.

Dr Shahzad Bangash also visited various wards, rehabilitation units and support service departments, interacted with patients and observed the quality of care being provided.

The Chairman and board members appreciated the Center’s professional standards, patient-centered approach and comprehensive rehabilitation model, expressing their satisfaction with the services being delivered.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Shahzad Khan Bangash described the Paraplegic Center Peshawar as a source of pride not only for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but for the entire country. He reaffirmed the BoG’ commitment to supporting the institution in expanding its capacity, enhancing its services and further developing it into a model rehabilitation center of national excellence.

Expressing his gratitude to the Chairman and members of the Board of Governors, Director Rehab Dr. Aamir Zeb stated that the Center remains fully committed to its mission of providing high-quality, patient-centered rehabilitation services. He emphasized that the institution will continue striving to empower persons with physical disabilities (PwDs) by helping them regain confidence, independence and the opportunity to lead dignified and fulfilling lives.
