CCPO inspects security measures on Youm-e-Ashura

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Jun, 2026) Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Peshawar, Dr. Mian Saeed Ahmad on Friday inspected security measures on routes of the central mourning procession and Majalis for Youm-e-Ashura.

During the visit, he reviewed security arrangements at People Mandi, Masjid Qasim Ali Khan Road, Qissa Khwani Bazaar, Shahbaz Chowk and Kohati Chowk including entry points, rooftop deployments and sniper positions.

Speaking on the occasion, CCPO said that all Ashura mourning processions have been provided three-layer security and more than 10,000 police officers and personnel are performing their duties with full dedication despite intense heat.

He said that mourning processions will emerge from more than a dozen Imambargahs under foolproof security arrangements.

The CCPO said that the police are receiving full cooperation from the Pakistan Army, law enforcement agencies, religious scholars of all schools of thought, procession organizers and the business community to ensure security arrangements.
