CCD: Alleged suspected killed by the firing of accomplices

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Feb, 2026) A detained suspect was killed on Sunday in an alleged police encounter between the Crime Control Department (CCD) and unidentified accomplices, police said.

According to police sources, CCD officials had taken the suspect, identified as Zain, along with them for recovery of stolen property when the incident occurred.

Authorities said that during the operation, alleged accomplices of the suspect opened fire on the CCD team. Police claimed that the accused was killed in the firing, allegedly by shots from his own accomplices.

The attackers reportedly took advantage of the darkness and fled the scene.

The body was shifted to the morgue for a postmortem examination to fulfill legal requirements.

Police sources said Zain was wanted in several serious cases, including theft and robbery. Raids were being conducted to arrest the absconding suspects.
