ABBOTTABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Feb, 2026) The Cantonment board Abbottabad (CBA), district administration, and police have jointly announced a comprehensive operation against illegal mini-bus stands and encroachments to address growing traffic problems and improve public convenience in the cantonment areas.
The decision was taken at an important meeting chaired by Executive Officer CBA Omar Masoom Wazir, which was attended by Assistant Commissioner Afrasiab Zubair Hundal, SP Cantt Hamza Ali, DSP Traffic Siraj Khan, and Cantonment Board Enforcement In-charge Chaudhry Hamid.
During the meeting, participants held detailed discussions on the removal of encroachments within the jurisdiction of the Cantonment Board Abbottabad, the unchecked establishment of illegal mini-bus stands, and various obstacles disrupting the smooth flow of traffic.
Officials expressed concern that illegal transport stands and roadside encroachments were not only causing traffic congestion but also creating inconvenience for commuters and pedestrians. The meeting emphasised the need for coordinated and effective enforcement to restore order and ensure compliance with relevant laws.
The participants agreed to launch a joint operation involving the cantonment administration, civil administration, and police to remove illegal structures and unauthorized transport stands. The initiative aims to improve traffic flow, enhance public safety, and ensure better civic management.
Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining law and order, protecting public interest, and taking strict action against violations to ensure a more organised and accessible urban environment.
