MUZAFFARGARH, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Mar, 2026) Police have registered a case against an alleged head of an oil mafia and his accomplices for attacking government officials during a raid that had left one official injured.

According to police sources, the incident occurred at the Head Kalo area of Qasba Gujrat where government officials conducted a raid against the illegal oil business.

During the operation, the accused, including the alleged ringleader Allah Wadhaya alias Mukhlis Sohrani, along with his accomplices, allegedly attacked the officials and opened fire, injuring one official.

Police registered a case on their own complaint and arrested several suspects. However, the alleged ringleader later obtained interim bail.

Customs officials had then reportedly recovered thousands of litres of illegal oil from the petrol pump and took it into custody.

The civil defence department had also sealed the petrol pump.

Sources said that a few months earlier, hundreds of thousands of litres of illegal oil had allegedly been recovered from the same pump and it was sealed at that time as well. However, the accused had resumed operations of their illegal business after a few days.

The latest raid was conducted by customs authorities with the assistance of law enforcement agencies. During the raid, the suspects allegedly resorted to violence and opened fire, injuring an official.

Authorities from different departments have now initiated legal proceedings to bring the accused to justice.
