Capital City Police bust hashish smugglers gang

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Feb, 2026) Capital City Police Peshawar (CCPP) has busted a gang of hashish smugglers through vehicles and arrested an accused involved in the illegal activities.

During the ongoing operations initiated on the special instructions of the higher authorities, under the supervision of DSP Rehman Baba Circle Muhammad Ali and SHO Police Station Rehman Baba Aizaz Alam Khan along with other police personnel arrested the accused involved in smuggling hashish and illegal weapons through a Suzuki vehicle.

The suspects arrested during the operation include Salman son of Noor Hussain, Luqman son of Ghulam Nabi and Fazal Hussain son of Ashraf Hussain, residents of Soorizai Payan.

The arrested suspects were trying to smuggle hashish through a Suzuki, who was arrested at the PAF canal blockade after receiving a tip-off,

6 kilograms of hashish, a pistol was recovered from the possession of the arrested accused, along with the Suzuki vehicle used in drug smuggling.

Cases have been registered against the accused and further investigation has been initiated.

Meanwhile, Chief Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Peshawar Dr. Mian Saeed Ahmad presented awards to DSP Camps Abdul Rehman, SHO Campus Police Station Asif Ali Khan, SHO Urmar Police Station Khalid Afridi and Sub-Inspector (SI) Kifayatullah, ASIs Noor Ali Shah, Khan Sahib, Riaz Khan, Sadiqullah, Tariq Khan, Gulzeb Khan and other officials Wasil Khan, Iftikhar, Asif Khan, Ababeel Squad officials Farman, Dilawar, Sikandar Khan, Murad Ali, Faizan, Khurshid, Arif Ali, Fasihullah, Basit, Saeed, Sher Ghani, Noorullah, Wasif Khan, Waqar and Mujeeb-ur-Rehman in recognition of their outstanding performance in effective crime prevention, professional action against anti-social elements and effective prosecution of cases here in a ceremony held at Malik Saad Shaheed Police Line Peshawar.

Speaking on the occasion, CCPO Dr. Mian Saeed Ahmed said that the process of punishment and reward will continue in the police department.

The purpose of such events is to motivate officers and officials and to encourage others to follow the path of hard work and honesty.
