Capacity-building training program held for prosecutors, police officers

BAHAWALPUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Feb, 2026) In line with Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s vision of “Justice for All,” and under the directives of the Secretary, Public Prosecution Department Punjab, a series of specialized training programs is being conducted for prosecutors and police officers responsible for investigating and prosecuting cases of murder, rape, sexual assault, and narcotics offenses.

On the second day of the training session held in Bahawalpur, prosecutors and police officers involved in homicide investigations actively participated in sessions focused on effective investigation techniques and prosecution strategies. Dedicated modules were also delivered for prosecutors and investigating officers handling sexual offense cases, covering relevant legal provisions, investigation procedures, and trial processes.

The session featured experts lectures by Syed Zeeshan Haider and Javed Iqbal, who highlighted common investigative errors and shared practical methods to address them. The speakers also shared professional insights on strengthening prosecution cases in courts to improve conviction outcomes.

Participants appreciated the initiative of the Chief Minister and the Public Prosecution Department, expressing confidence that such training programs will significantly enhance the performance and coordination of prosecution and police services.

District Public Prosecutor Nadeem Iqbal Khakwani concluded the session by thanking participants and distributing certificates among those who successfully completed the training.
