KOHAT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Feb, 2026) Kohat Cantonment Police have intensified their ongoing crackdown, arresting two suspects during a routine patrol. In this regard on Wednesday, the operation was carried out under the supervision of Station House Officer (SHO) Ayatullah Khan, who led his team in a coordinated effort to curb unlawful elements in the area.
According to official sources, the suspects — identified as Hamid Khan and Nawab Khan — were apprehended while police were conducting vigilant patrolling. During the swift action, officers successfully recovered a Kalashnikov rifle along with 1,800 grams of hashish from their possession. Moreover, the arrests were described as a significant breakthrough in the fight against organised crime.
Subsequently, separate cases were promptly registered against both accused at the Cantonment Police Station. Authorities stated that the suspects were taken into custody smoothly and are being interrogated thoroughly. Meanwhile, investigators are carefully examining whether the accused have links to other criminal networks operating in the region.
Police officials emphasised that such proactive operations will continue relentlessly to maintain lasting peace and public safety. Furthermore, they reiterated their firm commitment to eliminating illegal weapons and narcotics from society. Consequently, residents have welcomed the effective action, expressing hope that sustained efforts will ensure a safer and more secure environment.
