BZU students highlight social issues through posters

MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd Mar, 2026) The Department of Sociology at Bahauddin Zakariya University organized a poster

exhibition aimed at raising awareness about social issues and proposing

practical solutions.

More than 100 student groups participated in the event, presenting posters on a wide range

of societal challenges and sharing innovative ideas to address them. The exhibition was

inaugurated by Dean Faculty of Social Sciences Prof Dr Umar Farooq Zain.

Chairman Department of Sociology Prof Dr Kamran Ashfaq, Prof Dr Imtiaz Waraich,

Dr Shabbir Gujjar, Dr Sabiha Noor, Dr Tehmina Sattar, Dr Mureed Hussain, Dr Saima Afzal

and Muhammad Farooq were also present on the occasion.

Speaking at the event, Prof Dr Umar Farooq Zain said such activities help uncover students’ hidden creative potential and should be continued regularly.

He emphasized that sociologists play a vital role in highlighting social deprivations and contributing to their solutions. He expressed satisfaction over the students’ creativity and termed them future sociologists capable of making meaningful contributions to society.

Prof Dr Kamran Ashfaq said the Department of Sociology was committed to addressing social issues through academic and practical initiatives. He added that such events promote critical thinking and creativity among students and would continue in the future. He also congratulated Program Coordinator Dr Tehmina Sattar for successfully organizing the event.

Participants briefed guests about their projects in detail, reflecting strong academic engagement and social awareness among the students.
