MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Feb, 2026) The Bahauddin Zakariya University has officially inaugurated its Business Incubation Centre, marking an important step toward strengthening collaboration between academia and industry in South Punjab.
The opening ceremony was attended by State Minister for Federal education and Professional Training Wajiha Qamar as the chief guest. Speaking at the event, she said the center would play a key role in transforming students’ business ideas into practical ventures and linking them with industrial and commercial activities. She added that the initiative would promote creativity among youth, support startup culture, and create new employment opportunities.
The minister emphasized that universities today must go beyond awarding degrees and should actively promote research, innovation, and partnerships with industry.
Director of the Business Incubation Center, Dr. Asif Yaseen, briefed participants on the facilities and services offered by the center. He said students will receive support in business plan development, mentorship, industry linkages, technical assistance, and market access. He also highlighted the roadmap designed under the vision of the Vice Chancellor to modernize the university and encourage youth entrepreneurship.
Faculty members, students, and representatives from different walks of life attended the ceremony and welcomed the establishment of the center as a positive development for educational and industrial growth in South Punjab.
